    Met hun nieuwste werk ‘Statue of Liberty’ stelt het kunstenaarsduo Roos&Chris de vrijheid van de vrouw ter discussie. Hoe beïnvloeden mode en religie het dagelijkse leven van vrouwen in zowel het oosten als in het westen? Hebben zij de macht om hun last te kiezen? Wanneer is een vrouw werkelijk vrij en wanneer is er sprake van onderdrukking? Deze en gene vragen hebben het kunstenaars duo  aangezet tot het maken van deze prachtige dame die met haar lichaam pronkt in een strak bladgouden gewaad. Uit angst veroordeeld te worden houdt zij echter haar ogen verborgen. Roos&Chris nodigen u met dit beeld graag uit tot nadenken over de werkelijke betekenis van vrijheid.
